David Walliams offered £500,000 to be a judge on next series of Britain's Got Talent

Speculation has been rife for months over who will fill Piers Morgan and Simon Cowell's seats on Britain's Got Talent.

And it emerged today that Little Britain star David Walliams has been offered £500,000 to sign on as a judge on the next series.

ITV bosses approached the 39-year-old on Friday with a formal offer, but the comic is yet to confirm his place.
It is being reported that Walliams will delay signing his contract until the other judge to sit alongside him and Amanda Holden is revealed.

The Sun claims that he is hesitant to share the spotlight with another comedian such as Paul O'Grady, who is one of the contenders to fill the third seat.

The TV host isn't making any commitments yet either. He said recently: 'I have not been formally approached, but I would consider it. I think that show needs something now.'

Miss Holden, 39, is the only original member of the panel remaining after both Morgan and Cowell quit this year.
Cowell, 51, says he wishes to focus on taking the X Factor to America, while Morgan, 45, has already moved stateside to take on a high profile position at CNN replacing talk show host Larry King.
