Richard Herring is an Edinburgh Fringe veteran whose cult status was elevated by television stardom in the 1990s as one half of Lee and Herring. His live performances have enjoyed mass critical acclaim, including his one-man Edinburgh shows Talking Cock, Someone Likes Yoghurt, Ménage a Un, Oh Fuck I'm 40 and The Headmaster's Son. He's also a highly accomplished writer and performer, penning and appearing in several critically acclaimed plays including Punk's Not Dead and Excavating Rita. Recent television appearances include Genius (BBC Two), Have I Got News For You (BBC One) and Never Mind The Buzzcocks (BBC Two). “Herring is a superior comedian… hilarious” THE GUARDIAN

One thing's for sure, you aren't going to fall asleep when Jarred Christmas is on stage – he'll bound onto the stage looking like an Elvis impersonator on his day off and he'll keep you entertained from the word go. Recent television appearances include Mock the Week (BBC2), 8 Out of 10 Cats (Channel 4) Argumental (Dave) and Dave's One Night Stand (Dave). With 3 sell-out Edinburgh Festival shows and 10 years performing on the best comedy circuits in the world, Jarred takes the audience on a hilarious thrill ride of laughs and gasps with an edge of anger that manifests itself in his incredible rants against the small things in our lives. "One of the funniest men ever to pick up a mic. Some stand-ups are just born with funny bones, Jarred is a complete natural" TIME OUT

Late Night Gimp Fight - the most exciting new sketch group in the country: winners of the Chortle Award for best sketch show 2011; and Edinburgh Comedy Awards best newcomer nominee 2010, offer sublimely irreverent, carefully crafted skits that are unapologetic in their silliness. There will be fast-paced, dark and off-the-wall sketches and tightly choreographed musical set-pieces. "Sketch comedy doesn't get much better than this" THE SCOTSMAN

Carl Donnelly, multi-award winning stand-up comedian from London, is our compare for the evening so prepare to be amazed by his sharp comedic timing and his incredible ability to turn the seemingly mundane existence of the 21st-century slacker into gripping, unmissable stand-up. Carl has recently appeared on such shows as Mock The Week (BBC), Russell Howard's Good News (BBC 3) and Dave's One Night Stand (Dave). "Excellent, fast-rising comic with pacy anecdotal routines" THE SUNDAY TIMES
Tickets: £15, concessions £12.50

Compete for the Meat - Al Murray interview

This brand new and exclusive series sees Al Murray slip back effortlessly into his award-winning and legendary Pub Landlord guise for a brilliant pub quiz show.

And that’s not all – like those quizzes your mum and dad used to take you to back in the day, teams compete for a side of meat. Yes, it’s television’s only meat-based quiz show.

The, ahem, ‘steaks’ are high as the Guv’nor himself asks the questions to four teams of two, who play for the honour of taking home a frozen chicken and the accolade of being slightly smarter than the competition. Runners-up can expect to walk away with sausages, while the only thing the losing team can look forward to is a Slow Walk of Shame. Look out for some celeb guests too!

You can see Al Murrays’ Compete for the Meat every Thursday, 9pm, only on Dave (Sky channel 111, Virgin TV channel 128, Freeview 19) Play the Facebook game now for your chance to win a frozen chicken! http://apps.facebook.com/compete-for-the-meat
